TikaStudies & TikaGrants
MEDICAL AFFAIRS · STUDIES AND GRANTS
From first request to last dollar, one governed path.
One purpose-built platform for investigator-initiated studies and grants, from the first request to the final payment. The public form is the front door, and the record it creates is the one your reviewers, finance and field team finish. It runs on its own, with no other Tika product required.

THE PROBLEM
- Three inboxes and a spreadsheet
- Requests re-keyed into a tracker
- Payments apart from the decision
HOW IT WORKS
Two products, one platform, one record
- 01Intake. The investigator submits a concept on your published form. No login needed.
- 02Link. The institution joins the account and the investigator joins the HCP record.
- 03Approval. Medical, Legal and Compliance review the concept, then the protocol on the same study.
- 04Managed by MSLs. The approved study lives on the PI’s profile and the institution’s account.
- 05Evidence. Milestones, enrollment, IRB dates and publications stay on the study.
- 01Sign up and approve. The organization requests a login. You approve it before it can apply.
- 02Apply. Program, grant type, budget, required files and signed attestations.
- 03Review. Document check, Compliance, committee and award, with full or partial amounts.
- 04Agreement. Letter of agreement sent to the applicant portal; signed date recorded.
- 05Pay. Payee details captured securely. Payments cannot exceed the approved amount.
TikaStudies is a Medical Affairs evidence book, not a CTMS, eCRF or regulatory submission system. TikaGrants tracks payments for Open Payments reporting but is not an accounts-payable system or ERP.
CONFIGURED
Configured, not customized
Publish, reorder, require and hide questions. Show-if rules by grant type, region or therapeutic area.
Program names, grant types, tax-status lists and eligibility are settings, not code changes.
Sales and marketing have no role in grants. Access is set per tenant.
CAPABILITIES
Key features from intake to outcome
- Your front door. Publish forms on your website or a Tika link. Each submission creates a record.
- Complete on arrival. Required files, budget lines and signed attestations are enforced at submit.
- Smart forms. Show-if rules by grant type, payee region or country; repeating budget and in-kind lines.
- Two rounds, one study. The protocol form updates the same study, so investigators never start over.
- Configured stages. Document check, Medical, Legal, Compliance and committee, any-one or all-must-approve.
- Reviewer queues. Each reviewer sees what is waiting on them.
- Information requests. Return an application for more detail with a due date.
- Letters from the decider. Approvals, declines and awards go out in the applicant’s language, signed by the reviewer.
- On the relationship. The study appears on the PI’s HCP profile and the institution’s account.
- Milestones and enrollment. Planned and actual dates, enrollment pace and alerts before a date slips.
- Regulatory context. IRB dates, ClinicalTrials.gov identifier, amendments and a risk register.
- Protocol stays Word. Edit in Word Online; editing locks once the protocol is approved.
- Every grant type. Medical education, fellowships, equipment loans, product donations and charitable contributions.
- Eligibility rules. For example, 501(c)(3) public charities only, set as configuration.
- Secure payee details. Tax forms and bank instructions captured in the portal and stored encrypted.
- Payment history. Payments recorded on the award and ready for Open Payments reporting.

WORKS WITH
VALUE
Why run studies and grants on one platform
Every investigator, institution and applicant has one profile, so the PI on a study and the faculty named on a grant are recognized as the same person. One record means nobody re-keys a PDF, and every decision can be shown.
- Manage each approved study from the investigator’s profile and the institution’s record
- Log a visit against the study and see the next milestone before it is overdue
- Protocol stays a Word file
- Publications and abstracts attach to the study
- One intake, one queue, one letter from the person who decided
- Applicants see grant status without calling
- Forms change by type without a vendor ticket
- Program names and eligibility are settings
- Stages, amounts, documents and payee details on the record, not in email
- Payments cannot exceed the approved amount
- Commercial users never see grants
- Payment history ready for Open Payments
Value that does not depend on volume
No logging, re-keying, chasing attachments or compiling reports from inboxes and spreadsheets.
Skip custom website intake that has to be rebuilt as the program grows. Forms are configured, not coded.
Status, stage, amount and document history stay on each record.
Add programs, grant types or therapeutic areas as settings, with no new system to buy.
ONE PLATFORM
A team that only runs grants never sees the study book. A team that only runs investigator-initiated studies sees one clean study grid.
The PI on a study is the HCP. The applying hospital is the account. Faculty named on a grant can be matched to HCP records.
Publications and abstracts attach to the study, and the PI and institution stay linked after the study closes.
